Precor 546


Never before in my life have I worked out. I never really cared about how I looked so I just never tried. It seemed like too much effort to stretch, work out, cool down. I'd much rather be doing something else. Weight hasn't ever been a problem for me either, so that might be part of the reason I never really tried. I used to stay pretty active but a while back I got a promotion to a desk job. That's when things started to really go downhill.
I love working my new job but it's having some bad effects. It's really easy to snack all day sitting at my desk and since I'm not moving around as much as I used to I'm noticing my pants getting tighter in the waist. My roommate's a big health nut and he's always lecturing me about eating better and working out to stay in shape. He bought a Precor 546 Elliptical not too long ago and it got me thinking. With my weight starting to creep up on me maybe I should give it a shot. I've been working out on it for a little over a month now and I'm hooked. This thing really has given me energy I haven't had in a long time. It's pretty tough on my legs because it has a bunch of different programs to work out different muscles. I was really sore for the first few weeks.
It was tempting to quit after the first few times because I was so sore but I wasn't going to let him tease me about having to buy a new belt anymore. I've lost a little weight since I started but I'm more excited about the extra energy I have. I hate admitting my roommate is right about anything but working out does have it's advantages.

Precor Treadmill


I work out better with a gym buddy. Working out with someone else just keeps me more motivated. My best friend and I together 3 times a week to get our workout and take a break from our families. Working out helps me have more energy and relieve some stress. I'm pretty competitive, so I always try to lift more than her, but so far, she has me beat. Our typical routine is to start with some cardio separately then work together for weights.

I almost always start with the same treadmill, just because it's always empty. When I'm done with my cardio, I almost always have to wait for my friend to finish before we can move on. I started to get irritated that I had to wait so long, and I asked her why she didn't just use the equipment near me. It was always open, so there was never a wait. She explained to me that the equipment I was using is probably the reason I can never keep up with her when we're lifting weights. She told me she only uses Precor cardio equipment during her workouts because it's designed to be easier on joints, so you don't feel as stiff and sore from your workout. The next time we went to the gym, I decided to follow her lead. My gym is pretty well equipped, so I really didn't have to wait long before a Precor treadmill became free. I was surprised to see that my friend was right. After I finished my cardio, I was less stiff, and I was able to lift weight more efficiently.
Since I've made the switch the Precor equipment in my gym, I've noticed a big difference in my workout. Working out always leaves you sore, but when you use the right equipment, you reduce the strain on your joints, so you work out the muscles you need with less unnecessary pain. Now that I know my gym buddy's secret, I just might be able to take the lead.
